Note: I only made note of my loco hauled trains at this time.
On Monday I was in time to catch a required 81 down to International returning in time to be able to get up to Wolverhampton for 1830. Unfortunately the southbound loco had been swapped at the last minute and I missed out on a new class 85. I caught the Paignton - Leeds to Derby in the company of ‘Cuckoo’ so I could cover the Skegness trains. With the 47 being required I followed this up with pairs of 25s, 20s and a 31, all being ‘required for the year’ cops at the very least.
Tuesday found me covering the Didcot down to Leamington and then returning with the Poole-Notts. The Didcot produced a 47/3 making a pleasant change.
Wednesday started well with a class 84 to Coventry! Quite a few of us went for this and I joined Dick (from S. Wales) and Patrick as we carried on to Banbury with another required 47/3. I returned to International whilst Patrick had a little difficulty doing so as he was on an East Mid rover. Here I connected into another required 47 on the Paddington train which got me to Coventry for M01 back home.
Thursday was an evening of activity as M60 was to be a pair of 25s. I joined the others in heading south for it and found that almost the ‘entire world’ was there for them as well. I required them both and the Duff on the Padd - Cheltenham train later on. That meant I joined Andy and his gang on the return to Gloucester. It was his last Western Region 47 and another NB loco in my book. I was able to cover the Bankers by returning on S19 and that gained me another required class 37.
