Note: I only made note of my loco hauled trains at this time.

I had a one minute connection onto my train to get to Victoria but I made it! Unfortunately once there I found that all three of the overnight trains out of here were to be hauled by dud 73s. I took the Ramsgate in the hope that Faversham would have something better but no, the Dover loco was also useless. I made a mistake in taking that as they let me sleep through to Dover Western Docks and that meant a long walk back to Priory station. Chasing after platform tickets I chose to visit Appledore (again) and at Ashford boarded what I thought was the Hastings train only to be thrown off as it was a staff train heading for the loco shed!

The office was open at Appledore, well it should be as it was 0740hrs, but unstaffed. Seeing that it was open I gambled that someone would appear to sell tickets. I let the first train go and before the next one he had returned and I was able to buy a platform ticket (referred to as a PT from hereon). I collect these and this week's rover ticket is primarily aimed at helping me to get as many of them as possible rather than for loco haulages. Yet again I fell asleep on the train from Ashford and opened my eyes to find the train standing in Waterloo East station where I had planned to get off. I stood up, grabbed my bag, opened the door and got off much to the surprise of the commuters who had seen me fast asleep only 30 seconds earlier. The 73 on the Boat Train was also no good so I went for a London area platform ticket bash, covering my favourite place St. Johns. (Well most of the trains seem to be advertised as 'All stations except St. Johns' so I felt a bit sorry for it).

Sadly there was no time for me to get off at Bat and Ball so I headed back into London. Denmark Hill was unstaffed because of illness and I found my other two targets both empty when I had walked to them. Oh well, I was back at Waterloo for the 50 at 1310hrs and that enabled me to get out to Winchfield for its PT. The guy there was also a platform ticket collector and we chatted for a while. What a stroke of luck because he got Hook to send me some of theirs on the next train and I gave him one of my Rye PTs and then I was away to Waterloo. I must still have been tired as I soon fell asleep and woke up in London again, consequently missing the first commuter train. No matter, I needed the 33/2 tonight so that was enough. Unusually my return train ran straight through to Waterloo instead of terminating short at London Bridge as on previous occassions. Doh, the Boat Train was the same 73 again but I took it anyway and returned to Waterloo to find a required 73 was on the 2252hrs so back out again to return for the ED overnights.
