Note: I only made note of my loco hauled trains at this time.
Although I did a lot of my usual weekday moves there were few new engines around Birmingham for me. The NB 47 that I had let go on Saturday was nowhere in sight on the Poole trains which is where I had expected to see it. On Tuesday my return move from Wolverhampton had two electric locos on the 1830 train. (In the years to come someone will point out to me that one of these locos may not have had its pantograph raised but I didn't record that detail back then). Wednesday saw me off to Wolverhampton behind a required 81 and then picking up a NB 47 on the Didcot. Thursday was the day of the Wath railtour and despite getting to New Street late I was able to catch an 'earlier' train that was running late after a failure had caused problems on that route. I went up with the Peter Watts crowd and had copies of the Bradford Barton books which had used some of my photos. The books were slated, oh dear! However had I waited for my planned train to get up north I would have missed the railtour, as several did, because of those earlier delays. It was a good tour, covering several rare lines and providing two class 20s and two class 76s, all required. Of course it ran late but fortunately got to Sheffield in time to make the last train home to complete what had been a good day.
